Supervised Playgrounds

The Marinette Recreation Department will sponsor Supervised Playgrounds staffed by supervisors who are trained to offer fun activities for children. Supervised playgrounds are located at Fred Carney Park (230 Ogden Street), the Duer Gym (402 Williams Street) and at Higley Field (2001 Carney Avenue). Hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Playgrounds are open to school-aged children ages five and older. There is NO CHARGE for participation in this program. The School District of Marinette will provide FREE breakfast and lunch at all sites throughout the summer. Playgrounds will be open for the season June 6 through August 11. Children are free to come and go as they wish, so parents should plan accordingly. This is not a substitute for daycare. It’s an opportunity for supervised play for school-aged children. Parents should register their children for this program, and can do so at the Civic Center, 2000 Alice Lane, or on-site at each playground. Phone registrations are not accepted, since a waiver needs to be signed, but more information is available by calling the Recreation Department at 715-732-5222.
