A non-competitive, fun atmosphere is the key for Adult Open Volleyball. Held at the Duer Gym, 402 Williams Street, on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:30 PM. Weekly fee just $2.00 per player!
RECREATION DEPARTMENT AQUATICS
The Civic Center Pool is an outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool with a .75 meter diving board and a water slide. A wading pool is available for children ages 7 and under who are accompanied by an adult. The pool is open Monday, June 12 through Friday, August 25.
Open swim hours:
1:00-4:30 PM and 6:15-8:15 PM daily through August 18. No evening swim August 19-25.
There is no charge to use the wading pool.
Pool opening requirements include a minimum air temperature of 65 degrees during the day and 70 degrees for evening swimming. If there are less than ten swimmers, wading pool and big pool combined, within 60 minutes of opening time during the day and 30 minutes at night, the pool will be closed and any cash customers’ money refunded.
Season Passes allow unlimited use of the pool during open swim and adult swim times. They are not valid for swimming lessons. Passes are not transferable, and may be used only by the purchaser.

Air mattresses, tubes, or rafts are not permitted in the pool. Noodles and back floats are available.
Private Pool Rentals Available for birthday parties, holiday activities, and private groups from 10:00 AM to noon daily, or after 8:30 PM. The rental fee is $60.00 per hour for city residents, and $100.00 per hour for non-residents. Wading pool rentals are available from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon, and cost $25.00 per hour.

Swimming Lessons held Monday through Thursday at 10:30 AM or at 5:00 PM Monday/Wednesday. There are seven classes per session.

Private Swimming Lessons
Private lessons are available for individuals of any age. Private lessons are held Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 12:15 to 12:45 PM or Tuesday/Thursday from 5:00-5:30 PM or 5:30-6:00 PM, all at the Civic Center Pool. The cost is $45.00 for Marinette city residents or $75.00 for non-residents.
This program is designed for those children ages 11-14 who are looking to do more in the area of aquatics. This is an introduction to lifeguarding program for children who are interested in becoming a certified lifeguard one day. The class helps students to develop a deeper appreciation of the water and build a stronger foundation of aquatic and leadership skills and knowledge for a future career in lifeguarding. Skill presentation will include first aid, CPR and AED, safety and basic rescues and swimming endurance. This course does not certify students to be lifeguards, but it acts as a stepping stone for those who are not yet old enough to take certifying lifeguarding courses.
The class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-1 PM at the Civic Center Pool from June 13 to July 27. Additional on-deck opportunities will be available to students during the month of August. The cost of participation is $40.00 for Marinette city residents and $60.00 for non-city residents. Fees are payable at the time of registration.
Pool Birthday Parties are available during any open swim session! Fees include the assistance of one of our amazing staff members, pool admission, reserved space on the pool deck, and a personalized 1/4 sheet cake, plates, forks, napkins, cups and juice to enjoy in the snack shack area. Parties must be paid in full at the time reservations are made. Sorry, phone reservations are not accepted.

Disc Golf +
Located at Marinette City Park, the course is FREE for use. Discs are available for use at the Civic Center and can be checked out with a $20.00 per set deposit. The deposit is returned in full when the three-disc set is returned. (Lost discs result in forfeiture of your deposit.) Score cards and course maps are also available at the Civic Center.
Duer Gym +
Hourly rentals for our wood-floor, first-rate facility are $21.00 per hour, plus a $20.00 key deposit. All fees are paid at the time the key is picked up at the Civic Center, and the key deposit returned when the key is returned. Call 715-732-5222 for availability

Indoor Walking and Running
Don’t let inclement weather ruin your walking or running routine! Walk or run indoors! Indoor walking is available at the Civic Center Monday- Friday from 7:45 AM to 9:00 AM, or whenever tennis players are not utilizing the courts. 10 1/2 laps around the dome equals one mile. There is no charge, as the dome is not heated for walking or running
Bend & Stretch Exercise Class
This long-standing class features flexibility and floor exercises along with the use of light weights and is held Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 to 9:45 AM under the instruction of Judy Sitek. Class is held at the Duer Gym, 402 Williams Street, Marinette.
Punch Cards (7 classes) are used for this class, and are available for purchase at the Civic Center.

Indoor Golf +
Driving mats, a net and wiffle balls all available for your jump-start on the season at the Civic Center! Bring your own clubs, and pick up your practice balls when you’ve had your share of swings! Admission just $4.00 per person.

Marine Baseball Spring Training Camp +
Marine Baseball Spring Training will be held for ages five and up Tuesday, March 8 through Thursday, March 10 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM each day. Get the jump on the season and work on the fundamentals of baseball with the Marinette High School Varsity Baseball team players and coaches! $25 per player includes three days of instruction plus a camp t-shirt! Pre-register at the Civic Center.

Courts are marked inside the Civic Center Domes as well as located at Division Street for Pickle Ball. Pickleball fees are $3.00 per player at the Civic Center, and there is no charge for use of the outdoor courts at Division Street.
Official rules for Pickle Ball can be found at www.pickleball.com/Rules.aspx. Paddles are available for use at the Civic Center courts—ask at the front desk.
Pickleball 101 on Wednesdays from 5-6 PM will be offered to anyone interested in doing some drilling and improving their game, but beginners will be prioritized. Bring a friend and try something new! Open play will follow from 6-8 PM.
Pickleball Open Play is hosted by the Friends of
Pickleball on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6-8 PM. Fees are $3.00 per person for indoor play, payable at the front desk at the Civic Center.
Round Robin Tournament Play is scheduled the first Saturday of every month beginning at 10 AM. Fees are $10 per player, with awards to the top finishers. Pre-register at the Civic Center front desk, with payment made at the time of registration. Tournament dates are May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5 and September 2.
Youth Clinics for ages 10 and up are held the second Saturday of every month from 10 AM until 2 PM. Younger children may participate if a parent remains onsite. Participation fees are $5.00 per week, payable at the time of registration at the Civic Center front desk. Pre-registration is required. Youth Clinic dates are May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12 and September 9.
Snowshoe Rentals +
Snowshoes are available for rent during the winter months on a one-day basis at the Civic Center. Fees are $5.00 per pair, plus a $20 per pair deposit. (You pay $25 when you pick up the shoes, and $20 of that is returned to you when you return the shoes the same day.)
Snowshoes are available in a wide variety of sizes, ranging from youth through adult. The snowshoes are recreational shoes with an aluminum frame and buckle bindings, making them a light, accessible recreational opportunity for all ages and abilities.
Supervised Playgrounds +
Playgrounds are open to city resident, school-aged children. Join the fun all summer long at three city-sponsored playgrounds! All supervisors are trained to offer fun activities for children. The School District of Marinette will provide FREE breakfast and lunch at all sites throughout the summer. Playgrounds will be open for the season mid-June thorugh mid-August. Children are free to come and go as they wish, so parents should plan accordingly.
Playground hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Supervised playgrounds are located at these locations:

Swim Lessons +
Swim Lessons are offered only during the summer months.
Big and Little classes for parents and their children ages six months to three years focus on developing swimming readiness by teaching children and their parents to have fun in the water while practicing water safety.
Gearing Up Swimming Class for children ages 3 to 5 focuses on lesson preparedness independent from their parents, learning safe entry, bubble blowing, front kicking, back floating, underwater exploration and more.
Tier 1: helps students feel comfortable in the water & to enjoy the water safely. Open only to children ages 4 & up unless approved by the Aquatic Director. Students must be able to submerge their face, jump into the water safely, show comfort on their back, and “reach and pull” with floatation but without direct instructor contact in order to move on to Tier 2.
Tier 2: Gives students success with fundamental skills. New skills: float/recover, simultaneous & alternate arm/leg actions on front and back, basic self-help & rescue skills.
Tier 3: builds on the Level 2 skills by providing additional guided practice. New skills include coordination of front and back crawl, introduction of butterfly, fundamentals of treading water, and the rules of head-first entry.
Tier 5: provides further coordination and refinement of strokes. New skills include introduction of flip turns on front and back , increased distances, and refining performance of all strokes.
Tier 6: refines the strokes so students can swim them with ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. Students can expect to work on endurance in all four competitive swimming strokes.
Tennis Lessons +
Tennis Lessons for ages four through adult are held on Thursdays - January 14 to February 18 under the instruction of MHS Varsity Tennis Coach Christine Alloy utilitzing the Quick Start Tennis program and other resources.

Courts are available year-round at the Civic Center Domes. The court rate is $28.00 per hour, per court for adults, and $16.00 per hour , per court for students.
